Data Collection Framework - DCF

Regional coordination

Under the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2017/1004, the member states (MS) cooperate and coordinate their actions in the same marine region to improve the quality, timeliness and coverage of data.

To facilitate cooperation, the MS operate in Regional Coordination Groups (RCG): Baltic, North Sea & Eastern Arctic, North Atlantic, Mediterranean/Black Sea, Large Pelagics, Long Distance Fisheries, and on Economic Issues.

Since 2020, RCG ECON has continued the work of the Planning Group on economic issues (PGECON).

A Liaison meeting is organised every year to assess, discuss and coordinate work among the RCGs on issues that affect several marine regions.
